Ideally use helmet, would recommend it to ....
If this isn't possible then fume extraction systems are used.
However, individualI do my welding outside.
The fumes may contain so many different substances that are known to be harmful.
So we have had the threads about what we cant eat etc just thought id start a thread with other stuff we cant do whilst pregnant so non food food related things only really know 1 thing which is you cant use oven cleaner when you are pregnant something...

Lift heavy things,use high chemical product (cleaning wise),and I was told just dont take up anything you dont normally do but its ok to contuie if your bodies aready used to it,they must mean running, horse riding that kinda thing I assume! u I cant ... .

fumes can contains these chemicals which impact on human health: Soot / unburnt fuel - mildly harmful, avoid the fumes as much as poss, esp diesel which produces small particles that enter deeply into the lungs.

You are far more likely to poison yourself that there is no harm in it.
You should at the minimum make sure the wind is blowing crossways to keep fumes away.Wear gloves casting temperatures produce much if any lead fumes.
