Jp4 head gasket or gti head gasket help? hi am just wondering wat are the differences between the 106 gti head gasket and the jp4 head gasket can anyone help????

I've sourced a 2e block, and i'm next rooting round for a diesel crank.
I want to take the bores out to 83.5 so i get 2092cc, but i'm under the impression standard head gaskets are awfully close to that size and, may get caught between piston and head...

Yes a normal gasket won't work, the gasket in my RE1900 (83mm bore) is 048 103 383 B it measures exactly 83.5 mm so is too close I'd say for yours?
That gasket spec is:
Engine: AP,2E,ANU,ABF
Piston Dia.: 82.5mm
Standard VW gasket....

Just a quick question really...
Replacing the head gasket on the 8v next weekend, unfortunately VW don't have any sets, so where is the best place to buy one from?
VW heritage? or just go to GSF etc...

I just purchased a Best Gasket gasket set for my flathead, the right side fits, I assume correctly meaning all of the holes line up and the left side fits correctly upside down for all of the holes to line up. Whats wrong if anything?

Bought an complete engine gasket kit for 4BD2t. But I'm not sure if the head gasket is the right one.
I know the 2t is indirect diesel and has combustion chamber (not sure what proper terminology is) but should there be a cut out near the cylinder hole...

When you get it torn down, just compare.
The gasket on a 2T, so you shouldn't see anything on the gasket.

HG31170HR 4.345 bore .039 thick 9.47cc they also have temp head gaskets....
No coolant needed and no o rings needed, They use an Internal Combustion Seal BUT for a copper head gasketI've been using Rol Grafoil head gaskets.
