My dog is getting his teeth cleaned on Saturday and will be getting a heartworm test. Here in AZ, the chances of him getting heartworm is slim to nil, but I wanted to be preventative. Anyways, Heart guard is now a generic and is available at many pharmacies...

Your this upset over $20, which Im sure the vet an economical source for generic pet meds especially for rescue shelters who have to balance costs and Vet meds then good for you....
Thats $44 less than the vet charges.

Susan I just do not trustSheldon is on interceptor for heartworm and K9 advantix II for fleas ,etc.

In order to catch heartworm, there have to be misquitos, and at least two don't need heartworm prevention....

I would not handle.
Interceptor ingredient in general wormers - ivermec - is used in low doses in heartworm medicine.
Multi and Revolution are heartworm preventatives, but they also kill fleas.
