Just as the title says. If you wrap your exhaust system in heat wrap is that sufficient to do the job of the heat shields?

Once removed and wrapped....
Wrap or coating + turbo blanket should come first degrees.
Either blanket the turbo or use a heat shield.

Have my down pipe off for a bit which is another story. Regardless, thinking of picking up some heat wrap stuff.
Was looking at grabbing 2"x25' DEI titanium wrap, eight 14" stainless zips, and a can of the spray.

EVERYTHING, glued header-wrap onto the insides of ALL the heat-shields and fab'd up an insulated won't need to be soaked up by heat wrap to burn.

So i have a 1 piece SS header on its way to my door as we speak. As it looks now im going to be wrapping it. I've read up somewhat on it (the whole crack and pre rust things) but i dont see the issue if you evenly wrap...

As the intercooler is directly above the manifold on my car I'd like to get some heat wrap and try to reduce the heatsoak, especially in the summer months.
Seen some on ebay but I'd rather not go there!

I've There is an aluminum/plastic heat wrap that I have bought in the past that is heat resistant to 400F, I wouldn't useI ....
They may have a different paint for the heat wrap if used on headers.
Is rated for headers.

Following on from the oil line on the OC going I had oil in the heat wrap.
Now, I've been advised it will burn off. But **** me how long will it take to burn off? I've driven it about and all I see is a haze of smoke and the smell in the cabin it'...

To save a bit of heat....
Even if you could heat wrap stainless
Plm headers are 53xy.

Stops radiant heat from soaking into other parts melting and heating up other components gotta re do it :\ The only wrap worth using is DEI titanium! The only issue is if the wrapped component doesn't like the extra heat....
