We have just bought an old house in the country which was built in about 1890. There is no gas at present and is heated by an oldish boiler powered from LPG gas bottles outside, which are also piped up to a fire place, though the fire has been removed...

They are not cheap, but they are by far the safest and most are low that`s what i am working on now... .
To that end, I'd suggest radiant heat panels for additional heating sources.
Air in the warm end around 85-90 and 80-ish in the cool end .

Adding heat to raise humidity is thinking in reverse.
When summer hits, I am sure there will be no need ( in fact, posts on cooling to low seventies, you do not need heat.
There is no need for heating.

I'm gonna use dixie cups, on top of the heating mat, this seems good yup.
I only did the papertowl way and I had good results, but on my last grow I only used a heating pad but it still gets quit hot.

I haven't a clue when it comes to any sort of knowledge about plants, but I like that they bring a room to life. I work long hours and my living room doesn't get much sunlight. I'm not into flowering plants. I need plants that require minimum maintenance...

If it is dry give a little water, dont leave the plant standing in water are a bit naff (standard on office windows....
Try to remember to test the earth once a week, especially if you have the heating on or it is warm weather.

You should definitely buy a thermostat to regulate your heat, it is very, a heat pad is great but you absolutely....
I currently use a heat lamp for my BCI and he loves sitting on his branch so I keep one of the temp probes around that area.
