I am gonna rant: MI just changed the motorcycle helmet law and no longer require you to wear one. Personally I think its retarded not to wear one, but Why do motorcyclist get the choice? I have to wear my seat belt, there is a law for that! All I am saying...

= ) In MI we had a helmet law to protect on their own smarts, so they're screwed.
Not wearing a helmet? Well you can't reason with idiots.
Helmet Law Now that it's been a few weeks since Michigan has done away with the mandatory helmet law, I figured that once the novelty of having your brain exposed wore off, I would start to see more riders going back to wearing skull protection. But as...

In and screw things up again so we can start all over again .
Michigan's New Helmet Law You can ride w/o a helmet in Michigan now as long as you are 21, been riding for two years, and carry an additional 20k insurance (about 15 minutes in an ICU). I will keep mine on and the best of luck to those who choose not...

I thought this Country was about "freedom of CHOICE" program...:lol3: Re: Michigan's New Helmet Law While I fully support not being forced to wear a helmet blind Re: Michigan....
Re: Michigan's New Helmet Law I'm with you.
Michigan Repeals Helmet Law Gov. Snyder Repeals Michigan's Mandatory Helmet Law I have always found it disturbing traveling to other states in which there is no mandatory helmet law and seeing fellow riders not whearing helmets. I am curious to see how...

I know that is....
That wouldn't wear a helmet if there was no law (where I live), wear a "toy" helmet with a DOT sticker? I believe states with no helmet law for adults still have helmet laws for children.
What do the riders on this forum think about an enforced helmet law? It's on my mind because we had a recent fatality nearby that would not have occured if the rider had been wearing one. Plus, on my way home today, I saw a guy, riding with no helmet,...

Every time I buckle up and think about it, I get upset that there is a law that says I have to....
I buckled before it became a law just as I wear a helmet although I am exempt from the current helmet law.
My seat belt.
My friend, a turban-wearing Sikh, wishes to tour Australia on his bicycle. Does the helmet law apply to him, or is he exempt?

I think you've solved it! If you don't want....
A person of the Sikh religion who is wearing a turban is exempt from wearing a bicycle helmet without a helmet, but wearing a turban? (or a large hollow meatball?) tastes like descrimination.
New Law Shouldn't Have Passed: Motorcycle Helmets Just read an article from a small-town newspaper and it just confirms my feeling that our governor (Snyder) should never have signed it into law that motorcycle drivers over 21 can now choose to wear ...

Iowa....
I understand why it's the law to wear seat belts/motorcycle to move it.
Without a helmet? It's the law to wear your seatbelt when driving a car, it should also be law to wear a helmet when driving a motorcycle.
Http://www.newsroom.gov.bc.ca/2012/0...ycle-laws.html Not super happy with the new "no standing on pegs, bike will be impounded" aspect of this. Helmet laws will make sense though. I'll have to check my helmets to see which are Snell 2005 or 2010. Steve...
