Are the Wizards going backwards?
Jamison and butler are both decent players, but washington wasnt going anywhere with them. It was time to rebuild see what we have in our younger players, and clear up some cap space for free agents and first round picks.

Who and what are the wizards?
I know the wizards aren't from middle earth but came a long time ago, but i still don't fully understand what they are. Gandalf mentions the council of wizards in the hobbit, and we see a lot of Saruman in the LOTR. Radagast makes a very brief appearance in one of the books, and that's it. I recently learned the other two are pallando and allatar but I'd like to know more.

Language Wizards considered harmful?
Wizards are good if and only if you can get away with never editing the code that they generate. In that situation, they are in essence a very high level programming language. When you change your mind about something that was generated by the wizard, you can run the wizard again.
Wizards are most horribly evil if you must ever edit the code that they generate. If you do this, and later change your mind about one of the choices that you made in the wizard, then you are forced to choose between two very bad options. You can rerun the wizard, and reapply the manual edits, or you can try to edit the multiple copies of the boilerplate code that the wizard created the first time around. In the former case, you are likely to forget at least one of your edits, and in the latter case, you are likely to miss at least one of the places in the code that was affected by your choice at wizard running time.

Why doesn't Wizards print more broken cards?
While I disagree that zen and ww are bad ssets, I would say that Wizards doesn't put out more "broken" cards due to it making for bad play. When you have cards taht are much better than those around them any plan is going to either include them or made just to hate on them. This isn't the best plan for selling lots of cads.

PG Stephon Marbury headed to Wizards?
If he comes to DC, he's not gonna get any playing time. Hopefully this means that Mike James will be on his way out.
