Yh ....
If you use red henna it might give it a tint that will be visible in light, other than that will not lighten it.
Usually people use henna to dye it if it's light already.

but yeah black hair is hard to lighten naturally.

I am very interested in colouring my hair a nice red using henna, but have been having a hard time finding information and reviews regarding this. Anyone try this before? I have heard good things about 'yemeni' henna.

Cheers! Go for it! I've been using henna on my hair for around four or five years and don't plan is lush henna....
I coloured my hair last year using henna, and the result was, WOW! My hair is a natural ash-reddish it.

Hi, I am looking for some reviews on Lush Caca Noir Henna to cover grey hair. Has anyone tried it? Please share your experiences if you have used it to cover grey hair. I have excessive grey hair especially in front and sides which look very bad.

I over oiled my hair last night using castor oil mixed with sweet almond oil and I read here somewhere that it is ok to henna over oil, but not sure if that much oil is not going to inhibit henna from holding on to my roots. Can someone answer my question...

I would think it would inhibit the henna,i hennaed....
Well some people always henna on freshly washed hair for best dye uptake, and some find henna takes ok on "dirty" hair, but I don't know about oiled hair.

Hello beautiful and (non)experienced henna heads
I will start by telling that I am not new to henna, I used it before (3 times to be more precise) by applying henna from Lush on dry hair and not really mixing it with anything else than water.

Are you sure you rinsed it all out? Some people apply it to damp hair....
But I know, henna is not oil, only the oils release) and my hair is never dry from henna now.
So if hair is dry, there is nothing to seal..
The moisture.

Would that work for you? I think a light and you should... .
Results? No progressive darkening in color.
The length of my hair is very dark with a weak henna gloss.
In suggestions about this since my henna keeps darkening and darkening.

I forget the brand I used, it was one supposed to be for gray hair.

So I usually have to henna my hair again.
