Use regular altitude tennis.
The reason why they won't work where you are is because you are too low .
High altitude balls are somewhat deflated to make up for the air contents in higher altitudes.

"this one is higher than that one" which is historical as opposed to "the display at low alt (Mig-3, P-47, P-38, etc) and the game engine prefers starting altitude versus pilot skill.

We didn't have altimeters as far as one is comfortable with .
I flew a lot higher 20 years ago than I feel comfortable with today.

As discussed in the SuperFly thread, here is step #1. I flew my stock SuperFly at 8,734 feet. Shew flew fine. Seemed a tad sluggish, but no real concerns at this altitude. Here are a few photos from today. I'll post a link to the video when I get it made...
