I thought that some months ago Jackson was saying the Blu-ray would be "certainly not before the end of the year (2008), but maybe 2009." I'm going to be mighty upset if it's longer than another year...not like there's a damn thing I can do about it. ...

I'd say read the Hobbit the batmitzvah plz! Stat ....
I think reading LotR first makes the Hobbit more interesting how he acquired the ring, but you needn't read it first to understand LotR.
It matters which way you read them.
