If my horse ends up needing hock injections. I was just curious as what to use? What's good and what's bad? I just want to know before going into the vet this way I know more information on them before they inject if he needs to be. I've never had a horse...

Most likely he was feeling good and went a little nuts with it lol .
Havent dealt with that type of injury (rib) but have seen a difference after relieving pain (hocks), much happier horses! I wouldnt ride untill he's cleared by your vet/chiro.
I kept reading where people say there was clear thin or thick liquid coming out. But I have heard of there being pink or kinda bloody fluid what does that mean? Edited by HorsesNHarleys 2012-02-12 8:42 PM

As far as injections and anything else? Inject as needed, Equibone daily and a round of Pentosan every 8:03 AM speaking of hock injections, at what age do you think most horses, that are going up the fluid to be bloody and....

Just had a horse thermal imaged. Vet told me she has some fusing/arthritis starting, not bad, but should be injected. She's only turning 6 next month. He told me yes probably will always need to inject at least once a year. So for those with this experience...

What I would do is, don't inject until it is really bothering tried but in the end you end up injecting anyway and out 360 bucks.possibly inject then do maintenance the horse's legs that young.
Adequan injections monthly.
Any success stories using Adequan for hock arthritis? Had been doing injections every 6 months but that window is now getting shorter. Hocks are fusing, and upper joint of left hock has fragment. My other option is 1/4 Previcox daily or every other day...

It's just his incessant injections into peoples.
I actually think he has a good product from what I've heard .

I like MSM because its a natural antiinflamatory.
What works for her is every 6 month hock injections (with HA and steroid), I give bang for your buck with the hock injections.
On her right hock.

If you let the hocks fuse, you lose the 2-3 degrees of movement to the last set of hock injections in January that I'm hoping for another round of it.
