This one looks promising: http://www.turingart.com/phpdebugger_lan__en.htm I guess I don't get bonus points, but Zend Studio works for me on my Mac connecting to Apache running in VMware .
Been looking for php debugger for osx myself too.

Thus why I said I was hopeless! The only I was hopeless! The only problem I fear with bringing him to the bike shop is that he will choose a cheaper bike.

Can other ISFPs relate to this? Or 4s, or anyone? Sometimes I appear to be the biggest ditz on the planet. Any in-person friend who knows me relatively well thinks I'm lacking in "common sense." I beg to differ, but I do not know what it is that makes...

I looked into Logix and EasyExtend for Python. Logix hasn't been around for a while and it failed to install on Python 2.6. EasyExtend's tutorial is hopeless, the code in the tutorial doesn't even work. I am looking for something so I can write my DSL...

And compiler theory won't apply, since you'll likely interpret your DSL... .
Parsing isn't as hard as you might think, and Python has lots of parsing tools: Python Parsing Tools .
You don't need to "learn all that parsing and compiler theory" .
I'm trying to figure out the best way to parse a GE Logician MEL trace file to make it easier to read. It has segments like >{!gDYNAMIC_3205_1215032915_810 = (clYN)} execute>GDYNAMIC_3205_1215032915_810 = "Yes, No" results>"Yes, No" execute>...

However, this grammar looks reasonably easy to parse by hand, just... .
If it were me, I would derive a context-free grammar and plug it into a parser generator, probably Scala's combinator library .
You could try ANTLR or lex/yacc.
Antlr would do the trick.
I'm curious about what types of tools and specific tools people can't live without in their daily work. Anyone interested, please post up to 10 categories of tools you can't live without, and then with it as many specific implementations of that tool ...
