The Visual Studio IDE gives the developer almost instant feedback as to whether or not a block of code is correct or a program runs correctly. This usually leads to programming by guessing... The programmer thinks to themselves, "Maybe the intellisense...

Just....
The debugger is your friend there...
In other words, don't even think about how to fix it until you totally understand exactly what is hapenning to cause it .
The first rule of debugging is to thoroughly understand the bug before trying to fix it .

But "git stash apply..." should figure out how to DTRT to ....
In fact stash@{0} is a revision in git that you can switch to.. .
So try "git stash apply stash@{0}" etc.
The keys into the stash are actually the "stash@{n}" items on the left .

This will not detect if a file was renamed/moved by some process other than bzr mv (and I am unaware of any way to do so) .
Could you just call bzr add * at the end of the process? Your subsequent commit should take care of all additions and removals .
