Wayne There is no marking on the head that I have found except for a serial number on the boss.
With end mills in the #40 tool holders and the horizontal mill cutters.

How do the log dogs work on a horizontal mill?
I've only worked on vertical saw mills, where the log moves on a trolley and the log dogs are on the opposite side of the blade.
I don't see any, and can't figure out how you rotate the log to make one pass...

I just got a Van Norman 2LU Universal a while back and while wiping it down I noticed the crossed Dahlgrans with flamming bomb above them in a circle, the normal US Ordnance Dept stamp next to the serial number. Anyone else see equipment marked like that...

This isn't welding but it's something to post anyway. These are pivot bosses for the drive system. Cast in aluminum and turned down on the lathe.
