Large scale battles
I play Dnd 3.5 and one thing I found that I do sometimes when I DM is to send the players into battles with ally's and/or a lot of enemies. They are currently working for the military of one of the factions in the game. Problems with...

Only roll initiative and stuff that there are no actual large scale battles in the fantasy epic sense, and not lots of packed soldiers battles
i highly suggest....

I like the historical battles we have, but even on small size there are 16000 men total on the field and well, my computer can not handle that...
I got two minor almost forgotten battles that will not be as hard to make as those massive major battles ...

Boss battles are still pretty frequent, you just don't notice them as a boss battle because there's nothing point.
Boss battles work in certain genres, and they don't in others.
Depends on the type of game.

The rules in SWD are quick for battles....
I think it comes down to how much time you want to devote in a campaign to mass battles.
battles usually run for a full 2 1/2 hour session, and the kids really have been enjoying them.

Not all of us have people could record their battles to allow for replay from any angle (limited by the hexagonal sectors.
So, yes, Combat Camera and recording battles, etc, is an excellent idea.

I agree, some enjoy watching the battles I just didn't agree with some of the decisions which were made.
I hated the battles too , It was just so shouty and loud and stompy at times .
