Just told my insurance im moving from Chelmsford Essex to Stoke-on-Trent Saffs and the have increased my remaining 3 month by £140 WTF. My insurance was £1100 for the year that works out at more than 50% increase over the year how is this possible. :evil...

Is there some way of finding out if any major insurance claims were made on the house previously? If the owners had made a claim in the past, would the insurance hike on that property be passed along to new owners?

Has anyone had any recent dealings with getting insurance for their wood house? Back when we bought home insurance a few years ago, the price was so outrageous, it has cut so much into our rental profits we barely have any by the end of the year after...

We've got an all-wood house too and all I can say is OUCH.
Insurance on wood and in the cayes is definitely expensive.
I use RF & G insurance but the bill is double the budget you have indicated.
