Senate and House both pass versions of Obama Budget--Where are the GOP numbers?
Does anyone know if these new budget plans address Obama's Cap and Trade idea? I for one have been concerned about that particular point.
It sounds like more taxes that will basically hurt the middle class and poor more than anyone. Why is he taking all these measures to "help" the middle class out of this financial crisis when he's just going to turn around and tax them to death in other ways? He preached and preached about not raising our taxes, but it sure seems to me that he's finding all these ways to sneak his had up the skirt of the middle class and take money from them unsuspectingly. Am I the only one worried about this Cap and Trade bs?

If the House passes the Senate Bill, can reconciliation be used to pass a public option later?
Bush's tax cuts were passed by reconciliaiton, but a tax cut is a budget item and by planning it only out to 2010, Republicans showed in their flawed budget plan that it would be deficit neutral. Nothing permanent and nothing controversial will be passed by reconciliation. By the way the work those bills, a "public option" would have to be set to expire in say 6 years and come up for a vote again.

Will Democrats lose seats in the House and Senate this year?
Historically the party holding the presidency loses seats in the mid-term elections. Unfortunately for Democrats when they have held the presidency and congress they tend to loose more seats. I think the question both parties are asking is not if, but how many. At least that is what I've gotten from the media and some of the party heads willing to talk about it.

Should Harry Reid step down from Senate leadership?
Negro is sooo old fashioned, it is pretty much offensive. I mean, if Reid was 90 years old, maybe I would give him a pass.

How will the Mass election of a Republican impact Cap and Trade legislation in the Senate?
Considering that three out of the four top emitters of greenhouse gases don't want to even slow down their rate of increase in greenhouse gas emissions, by not passing a cap and trade bill in the United States we will SAVE thousands of jobs especially in the steel, aluminum, and other metal making industries. It will also give us more time to try to come up with sources of energy that the environmentalists may like. Considering so far they are against wind and solar farms that may harm the environment and take to courts almost any other energy project I am not holding my breath.
