How do you recover lost/damaged files from a damaged disk (external)?
I'm not sure if its just damaged or crammed way too full but it started when I plugged it into another computer at the front along with another hard drive which I've never done at that...

Ok, but how do i fix this fw bug? i found guides on the internet but they're not specific to my, you can however send it to i365 which is a Seagate company for paid data recovery.

Name the model to rely upon, please. Through years I buried five or six HDDs and I hate that. Backup is mandatory, no doubts, but files aside, I don't want to have a HDD cemetary. They're not expensive, but anyway extra expences aren't welcome.

I have a 6 year old USB hub with it's own external power supply to deal to supply enough power for an external drive.
For anything over 500GB to 1TB.

SSDs are fast, but do they last? If you use a PC for professional purposes, you need a solid-state drive. Period. The difference in performance is profound, as just about any SSD owner will attest. The difference isnt just faster startup and shutdown ...

It'll be interesting to see just how fast a SSD will be in my notebook.
That gave me 3 1TB's, plus the stock 320GB Caviar Blue (which isn't bad) and a 500GB Seagate FreeAgent "just in case".
