but once you change parts the lines will have High/Low Beam <> Black RRGS....

Proper air gap on S&W.
In a nut shell here is how I do it.
Use a plastic bag to catch the tiny spring, air gap, head space and endshake .
Then remove the nut by unscrewing if from the base.
