With higher outdoor humidity this could be a part of your issue especially with a tightly sealed house in the intake duct s at higher outdoor humidity levels it would close the fresh air intake and reduce indoor humidity.

I've been running for a few months now and have recently had a hard time controlling my breathing. I started running in the winter & had no problems. Now it's starting to get humid- any suggestions?

No snow in the Winter at all.
The humidity is a bit over 40% and it's hard to breathe.
And no wind at all.
