So wife loves her 535 GT xdrive, but is averaging 19 mpg. This is mostly city driving/driving style. We took a weekend trip, almost all highway, at 75-80 mph and got 28 mpg.
Anyhow, thinking ahead a few years from now, I know that wife will want something...

Accelerating from a stop to drive the 5 hybrid before deciding your wife's driving habits sound exactly like mine.
All the standing at lights.
Hybrid is the best choice for stop and go.

Well W_F, all of this info has been mentioned before on this thread.
However, why you would try to buy this through GM is a little beyond me ... you can pick up a full new take off rack at dozens of forums or CL for less that $100 as folks are always ...

Btw, here's a thread on painting (de-chroming) an escalade rack to replace a stock roof rack: http would have to retrofit to add either the escalade or base rack.
