I use this method successfully on the ducati timing belts, very accurate. I am hoping some one has some numbers for the alternator belt on an 05 R1100S. I know BMW has a special expensive tool tool but this would be so much easier and accurate. Just do...

It is amazing how little movement it takes to change the frequency .
On the Ducati it is at 110 HZ.
Is this like tuning a guitar string to a tuning fork? Very much so.
Interesting concept.

Even using 12 tuning forks can result in a poor tuning. Depends on the
instrument. Pianos have harmonics that are a bit sharp. So your
octaves are not true octaves, but need to be set a ...

I have done some fiddling with C1 and C2 and have been unable to get
the other tuning-fork crystals to work.
Any suggestions?

Those tuning fork crystals have big ESRs, like 30-50k
@ 32KHz, dropping as frequency rises.

I once made a very nasty, ugly little 32,768 Hz tuning
fork oscillator like this (it breaks just.

My first attempt at electric piano modeling. Here we go:
The pure fundamental is the only mode that can reside within a vibrating tine -like a tuning fork. Therefore, it's easily modelled with a single resonant filter, excitated by a "hammer" impulse....

In this respect, as well as concerning hammer and (de-)tuning-just like in a "real" electric piano.
