If I pull the air filter out from the fender and into engine bay would I need to relocate the second sensor next to the maf somewhere else? Is it a good idea to relocate the MAF without a BOV? or is that just must have the MAF on the coldpipe....

I have heard of several guys putting thier mat sensor in the air box for a cooler reading. is there any performance gain to this? is it worth it to go ahead and do it? what does this do for the car? thanks

Save your money.
A relocate MAT/IAT does NOTHING on a MAF car will do is affect the operation of the EGR.
Could make some more power I guess.
The fuel mixture a bit.

Finally got my manifold installed. With the help of a friend, we were able to pull out the old manifold and have the new one in, in just 6 hours too. Unfortunately I'm getting a check engine light. I used a code reader and it seems the IAT sensor is giving...

Most people cut threads on their sensor and screw it into the M50 location... .
A) IAT should not go in the intake boot, you should threaded the old sensor to put to the IAT and Evap valve? And as said, the IAT belongs in the manifold.

Quote: : I've had the Stack Performance Phenolic Spacers on my 6.1l since February 2010, so about 2 years and 60,000 miles.
The only facts that really have become of them are:
- they definitely reduce heat transferred through the heads to the manifold...

As far as power loss from the dog leg and the torque curve was much improved also.... .
On the 6.1 are people relocating the iat sensor and using the 2011 unit? any write up think hp may be lost? Run the IAT in the stock 6.1 location.

Purpose
Utilize the new 2011+ IAT Sensor. The expectation from this mod is not to read colder temperatures, but to reduce the amount external factors (radiant heat, heatsoak, materials surrounding the thermistor) that can falsely influence the IAT sensors...

OK. So after reading the potential benefits of cleaning the IAT sensor, I decided yesterday that I'd give it a shot. Picked up a can of carb cleaner (IAW Geno's instructions on this site), popped the hood and found the sensor. Nobody mentioned you have...

Also, when putting it back, torque specs are only, I think .
Exhaust brakes causing intake soot to collect on the IAT making it possibly read incorrectly is what started the reason of cleaning the IAT.
