Hey guys, first off, i love idling.
the duramax uses between .4 and .6 gal per hr
my question is... what will the 8.1 use?
tried researching it but i dont think many people are crazy enough to even think about letting an 8.1 idle.

Set idle speed higher like the trucks do.
LOng periods of idle are not good for diesels especially.
Accidentally let his truck idle overnight and couldn't perceive any change on the fuel gauge.

So i was driving my 88 classic today and it started sputtering and would die when it was idling, say i was driving along just fine come up to a stop sign and then it was running terribely and sputtering and then when i gave it gas it would just sputter...

There are few excuses for not being able to determine why the EFI light .
Lastly, stop taking your truck to a shop that can't adequately diagnose your truck.
In them, they were VERY failure prone.

My truck is deleted so I'll idle whenever for however long crap is gone or not.
Idling for a 10 or 15 minute warm up in the morning isn't bad even with the emissions crap.
Depends if your emissions crap is gone or not.

Sometimes the whole truck would-part.com 99 trucks had a cluster connector issue.
S and 2000s had a run of bad PCMs that would get hot and fail .

When my LMM is idling, sometimes it stops g for 2-3 seconds and then starts back up.
I thought it might have been something to do with the emissions crap, but my PPE should have taken care of that.
I asked my buddy who is a mechanic at the GM Dealership...
