My 86 has this random sputter it does whenever I'm idling at red lights. It doesn't do it all the time but just every so often it will sputter and sometimes it'll sputter till it stalls itself out. I figured if it was a tuning issue with plugs or wires...

If the trouble says fuel pump ill yank that sucker out and put in a new one be the issue I got .
Yeah I was just read trucks as old as mine.
Replaced the heads on my truck and it does the same thing, i have no idea what it is.

Is this common on these older trucks. I hardly ever run my a/c but was waiting on the rain to clear up and went to turn ac and noticed that it wasn't getting cold. As i was heading home i tried it again and while i was moving the ac was cold like it normally...

Could be a couple things, ranging from the A/C charge is low, or the condenser is clogged with shi*t, or the A/C idle up valve is turned off and the A/C compressor wont run at idle..

I refuse to try to rest and fry in my own fat .
They want you to spend more time in the T/S than ideling your truck, I don't hang out in the T/S drivers got reamed over our idling time.

I currently am running dual 3 inch exhaust with 3 inch in/out CherryBomb mufflers. all though i love the way it sounds idling, it is entirely too loud while driving around.

Does anyone know if Central has installed apu's on their trucks ? This weighs heavily on me because it is the company I have decided to train with ,however after finding out about charging drivers for over idling I don't know. Any help would be appreciated...

This is a waste....
This system will start and stop the engine to keep the cab at the temp you set the truck all night in any temp's.
You may get lucky and get an off lease truck that has one, but otherwise they do not have them trucks.

Alrighty I've read that our trucks run rich, and that doesn't supprise me one bit. I'm curious if any gen 2 owners have a wideband installed and what your afr's are at. I'm redoing my entire exhaust and I'll be adding an additional O2 bung for my wideband...

My truck is somewhat modified and does use the factory return fuel system so that may have the wideband in postup what....
I have a fairly build 4200 RPM.
I think something is wrong with your truck to make it run that rich...
idling.

Sleeper Trucks My brother-in-law works for Freightliner Trucks and said they are making alot of Penskie/ YRC sleeper trucks for us. FYI roadway77 likes this.
