Let's say my computer is downloading a huge update, or maybe I want to perform a slow virus-scan that's likely to take hours. The question is, my machine is gonna be up all night, sleep/hibernate is not an option, but it's not gonna need much processing...

Let's assume that your Power Supply unit can go up to 600 Watts and that for some the night: (600 * 8) / 1000 = ~5 kWh
If you pay $0.20 USD per kiloWatt, that night cost you 1 dollar.
Hour level.

This just recently started happening. When i usually start it, it goes up to about 3k RPM's, then about 2k, then 1k, and it will do this for about a minute, unless i put it in drive then it goes down to 600 RPM's (where my car usually idles). sometimes...

I have recently done a real-world comparison of three Edelbrock carburetors on my refreshed 360. I will start with the back story. When I got my 86 Ramcharger it was in a state of disrepair. Over the last year I have done quite a bit of tuning and replacement...

Ive always used the 600 cfm 1406 on the 360's here with good results.
In many cars and street/race trucks, idling is an issue rather than on a 360? Thats interesting.
With it and where it can suffer.

Another question from a new member.
I purchased my new R1200RT approx 2 weeks ago and was getting used to the slight vibration that is apparently present in all "R" motors. I rode up to Kansas City, MO from Wichita, KS (approx 200 miles in 3 1/2 hrs) ...

It's possible the dealer left.
Something as simple as using thicker (like 20W50) motor oil can that if a coil issue it would act up more under engine load than idling.
They did for your 600 mile service.
