If it's a Windows image, I would mount the VM using with SmartVDK and apply the image ....
Hope this helps.
Have not tried myself, though.

You can run Parallels to a Mac mini if you try to do it with the Parallels Desktop and I would not assume it'll be reliable enough for virtualizing servers.....
Answer right there, but you can always download the trial and see if it works .
What would be the best way to go about taking a regular copy/image/whatever of a live (Ubuntu LTS Hardy) server, so that I can run it as a local test and backup environment within Parallels. More detail: I have a live web server, hosted on Ubuntu, accessible...

My experience with Parallels has been positive, and if you Box is a good virtualization tool, ....
Range of platforms, chances are pretty good that there's a VMware image we've already got lying around Fusion can use a Boot Camp partition .
Something is clearly wrong with my setup but nothing I've tried seems to fix it. Whenever I launch Windows under Parallels, everything slows to a crawl. Windows is barely usable and even the Mac side slows down too. Same results on a 3ghz imac and 2.3...

Without its horrible 2 GB of RAM is in my oppinion to less to really work productive on both in parallel.
There are two very important things: Install Parallel Tools inside you Virtual OS (from the Parallels menu).

:) There was a hack....
Hoping it's VERY soon.
Parallels will have to play a little catch up.
Parallels Service" has again to be put into the folder /library/parallels (Image 1) this because Mountain firmware that's the issue.

Removing the app won't remove....
Unless youdelete the app (in your app directory) and the windows image (most likely in your documents it.
I'd think twice about deleting the Windows image.
Directory, possibly in a Parallels sub-folder.
I know the pro and cons, of each, but what do people here do with their Macs when they require access to Windows. Do you use Parallels/VMWare or some other virtualisation, running you Windows/Mac side-by-side Using Bootcamp, or both vital machine (aka...

They require access to Windows.
Has anyone used both of these? Is one clearly superior to the other? I notice they are the same price. Any pros and cons?

VMWare tends to be more polished and have fewer annoyance bugs but, currently, Parallels....
And now I use Parallels again.
Originally I went with Parallels since.
I've used each and currently use Parallels.
Is a useful advantage.
