Any Experience with Surgery To Repair an Ingrown Toenail? I damaged my right big toe nail running for an extended period (i.e. months) in a shoe that had grown too small. Basically the toenail cracked about halfway down. Not painful, not gross looking...

Once I remove an ingrown toenail, how do I prevent it from coming back? I just removed my extremely painful ingrown toenail. I hVe removed it several times but it keeps coming back!! How do I keep it away for good?

I had many ingrown toe nails and after it got cauterized I never had it again.
If your work puts you cauterize it.
The best way to prevent an ingrown toenail is to;
* Wear protective footwear.

They don't like you to walk on it for the rest of the day, though... .
I've always gone to a doctor for mine, and they usually numb your toe up, so it won't be too bad .
I don't even think they'd do something like that at a pedicure place. .

I've had surgery on my two big toes.
It happens to the best of us.
Just go and tell your parents and they can send you to the proper doctor .
Surgery for it is quick, easy and pretty painless.
It's just one of those things that happens.
