And yes, parn hard left and right for the stereo keyboard, but too, most mixers have line....
So it works.
You can plug stuff into inserts, but it also depends if the insert is post or pre eq...I have a mixer that happens to be pre eq.

Under the stereo head unit in my 944 S2 ('90) I have a unit which houses 4 CDs. I've spotted a few interior pics of people's cars who have an empty 'cubby hole' insert there instead. Does anyone have a spare one of these? Thought I'd see what's lurking...

Does Reaper come with anything to convert stereo to mono via a plugin that could be put on the insert fx. I don't want to have to keep bouncing tracks to mono when I need to pan. My inputs are stereo and I can't change that.
Any tips?
