I'm new to linux and I need to download audacity.
I'm in root and trie yum install audacity --disablerepo=LumenVox
It says Error getting reposityory data for LumenVox, repository not found.
I'm a noob, lol, what do I need to do?

You could.
You could try: yum --disablerepo=LumenVox* install audacity
You could use your package manager to disable any enabled LumenVox repos.

I'm looking at learning a DAW for solo acoustc guitar only. MIxcraft looks like it might be the most user-freindly; Reaper seems to get the best overall reviews, and Audacity is free. I'm leaning toward Mixcraft if that would greatly minimize the learning...

For just solo guitar any of them will work, Audacity is not bad for one or 2 instruments, Audacity is not bad ....
Audacity doesn't come close.
I've added EZDrummer for percussion, and it works seamlessly with Reaper .
It extensively.

When a person installs Audacity for the first time, and tries to export a file as an MP3, what happens? Assuming they don't have the LAME installed yet.

Setting it up manually didn't do it.
That you have a working version of Lame, you should be able to re-install Audacity 1.3.14 and use Audacity would recognize what was going on.
