I just replaced a roof with 30yr asphalt fiberglass shingles. Previously there were only gable vents and the customer wanted a ridge vent so I installed one. There are only three small soffit vents, so I will be adding soffit vents at each rafter spacing...

240/11=22 ft of ridge vent
240/24=10 soffit vents the better.
Ridge vent typically equals 11 sq final number for the top by 11 and the bottom by 24.
Be, 239.999 (just round up) to 240 for exhaust and 240 for intake .

Attic fans are nothing but a waste of power.
The ridge vent is the exhaust, so you need soffit venting as your intake.
Hot air rises, so you need an intake and an exhaust .
I would open up the second gable vent.

Tips:
- Patience. This is an easy DIY but can be made hard if you don't focus. You're going to be doing this mostly blind so your gonna have to visualize what your doing using your hands as your eyes.

Jaybee I would never suggest anyone cut thorughThe ideal is for a balance of the same area of soffit vents as you have ridge vent.
Ridge vent is installed on top of the ridge shingles.

Has anybody ordered or installed the AVS in-channel vent visors yet? I know when I got my EX, they said they'd be available shortly, but that was 2 months+ ago, and I can't seem to find them on anybody's website.

Fuel tank venting I wonder how much you will need to vent your OEM fuel tank.
I have taken away all origianl in/out/venting routes from the tank, I have only one 10AN feed and one 8AN for return now.

I loved my cell when I first installed it but then after about a year or so and seeingjust put a new vac hose onto the barb ontop of the hanger assembly that the stock vent went vent went to and run it down....
