Hey guys ~ I'm so glad this forum is active. I'm wondering if any of you are iron deficient to the point of needing an Iron Infusion?
After a EGD (endoscopy), my GI doctor determined that I have virtually "no pouch" or stomach tissue at all that my food...

Getting IV iron can be very dangerous, and should be done by qualified people, in the hospital....
The first one made me that you had no ill side effects from it .
I recieved two iron infusions.
A ferritin level of 8 last August of 2010.

I'm going along to my 2nd infusion on Monday and I was just wondering if anyone else has them on a regular basis? I feel so much better after mine, I'm just curious as I haven't read much about them post surgery.

Have you been tested for iron deficiency ( anemia )? And if so, were you deficient?

According to this article , Anemia can be seen by performing a CBC (complete blood count) which is about the most common lab test performed. If you've had a CBC...

Was so bad, while I was sitting for Remicade infusions, I had to sit with an iron transfusions was almost depleted, and my iron count was low.

My dh is severely anemic and takes iron twice a day. But then he just feels lousy for 2-3 hours after taking it. So the first half of his day at work and all evening before bed.
No fun!
I told him I would ask the peas, maybe you guys have some suggestions...

For a co-pay he can get his iron in for 4-6 weeks and be done with it.

I got iron injections twice a week and then weekly for a couple of months luck with finding a solution that works for you.

Just wondering who else on here has/has had Iron Deficiency Anemia before? I know its quite common.
I was told i was Anemic at the start of the year and am taking Ferrgrad C supplements at the moment. Im waiting to get back into a new doctor...

My iron levels are really low and the dr recommended taking an iron pill. (i was anemic with my daughter also and the iron pills made me sick) or he said that if i couldnt take the iron pill that he could give me iron thru an IV. I have seen some post...

Anyone taking extra iron and then feeling a lot of nausea after you take the supplement? ive been experiencing like an hour of nausea every morning after i take the supplement....any suggestions? maybe it's the brand?

They HURT but at least it doesn't, but are you taking it... .
