Hi all my 2wd saff has a problem with the iscv it doesn't work i know the valve is good as have tried it on another car if it is unpluged or pluged on i doesn't make any difference its just dead could it be a loom fault any ideas would be gratefully recived...

The car it didnt work this was due to the car being unused for 2 years the iscv was seized took in the black red wire to the iscv this may help you too if running L8 the wires need to be reversed.

This guide is for cleaning the ISCV found on a xr2i and frst, although it’s the same for the remote ones on the escorts and is even the same for the ones on the zetecs.

The 16V ISCV (Idle Speed Control Valve) is a rotary valve, the others we have looked at so far have all been plunger designs.
