Can I write programs in JavaFx or Flex with other languages (not ActionScript and JavaFX Script) like in Silverlight?

Rather you are really using these languages to build great UI usingFor flex you can only do MXML and Actionscript although there's an option to compile C/C++ code using Alchemy JavaFX can call....

I think of JavaFX bringing Flash-like....
I think JavaFX is more like Flex, because JavaFX is more about building applications than animations (which is, I gather, one of the sensitive distinctions between Flex and Flash).
Most of the desktop application development I do is in Swing, and I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on using JavaFX and/or Adobe Flex for building desktop applications. Have you had success building desktop apps with these? Or would you stick with...

JavaFX) I would say that JavaFX....
JavaFX/Flex/Silverlight would be more exactly like a JSON script, unlike Adobe Flex or Microsoft Silverlight which uses an XML syntax.
If you're making desktop apps, I'd stick to Swing.

Actually for someone "Survey of RIA tools" which is focus on this tools (FLEX, JavaFX and Silverlight) For David, thank that Flash output....

Also check out Tour de Flex to see some of the thousands of Flex components that you can use....
And throughput Flex can be a great option because more happens on the client (reducing the number Test to compare AMF with other options.

Just my two cents....
Although it appears fairly powerful in terms of capabilities, I'm kinda blah about JavaFX because reason but still want a richer UX for your users, I'd suggest Flex; it seems much better organized than JavaFX to me.
When I tried Javafx, the resulting application was extremely slow. My conclusion is that Javafx has no future and that sun of oracle should dump it. I am thinking this way because I have used openlaszlo frequently and performance of javafx vs openlaszlo...

Now acceptance of JavaFx will be even rarer, as more and more ....
When they released thier API initially, lot, they simply couldnt make it up to Silverlight and Flex.
JavaFX people made some mistakes.
By Silverlight and Flex.
