Drainage dwn throat can irritate the eustachian tube openings.
They run over to middle ear that controls 'the pop'. Nerve

Install new joints reverse of disassembly.
Hammer & Drift, or vise and socket for press blocks to support the shafts and knock the old joints out.
To remove U-Joints..
Remove Driveline.
At each joint.

i was told that it has a lot to do with a lifestyle. i do absolutely no physical activity. so every time i stretch my joints crack.
