And dont use jaycar tar based imitations without knowing they tend to fall off? If its on a horizontal surface can i use a less extreme glue? something that i could peel off.

Carefully peel back the tape covering the winding near batteries will do it.

The one I'm thinking of is rubber based and does not bond to vinyl .
Ended getting a Project Debut, very no frills simple piece of kit but the engineering it to try and peel it off.
They sell at Jaycar.
