I've been thinking quite passively about doing a V8 swap for quite some time now and have always had the question that since Rangers never came with a V8 option, how would one pass smog in the great state of CA? Would the truck have to pass the emissions...

In my Jeep I was going to go V8 swap in my jeep but never got around to it.
Equipment (which is friggin retarded) Makes it damn hard to do .
I've finally started the conversion to my 1992 Jeep YJ. What I'm trying to accomplish is build a Jeep that is relatively tough but I don't need to do hardcore wheeling. I've been there and done the "drive it like you stole it" thing in Trucks, cars and...

I have a cj5 and cj7 both to run inside the frame rails, I like the room to get to the other things under a Jeep from time to time.
Thanks again.

Easy enough, no problems the rest of the way, the gm coolant temp sensor worked fine with the jeep took the jeep oil sensor got an 1/8 to 1/4 npt adapter and put it in an unused spot in the block, works.
Quote: : And way cooler than a SBC!! Leave the soul of the JEEP AMC engine right where it belongs! I've always fought with myself over this. Ran my 65 Cutlass with an Olds 455 for a long time and finally swapped in a Chevy 396. Soul of the vehicle is ...

Hi guys, I've done a couple of modifications to my Jeep, also plan on doing more (Jeep Bug?) and I figured I'd document them on this thread. Here's my Jeep when I first bought it. It is a 1993 Jeep Wrangler S with 140,000+ miles on a 2.5L 4-Banger with...

Tinkering with the idea of installing a 351W or 5.0 in my 95 YJ. Never done an engine swap before, so this would be a first, and a good learning experience. I toying with the idea of these 2 engines matted to a np435 and twin sticked 205. axles are fine...

I have a 2000 TJ with the 2.5 four cylinder engine and overall, have been happy with its performance. I'm now looking at different options to either wake this one up a bit or just swap in a 4.0. There are rumors of a stroker kit for the 2.5 online, but...

A better swap for the money would be either a Chevy LS or a 5.9 out a 4bt in a small jeep is probably not the best way to go for reasons listed, weight, number of mods, size, vibration, emissions, the list....
Is probably the smart money here.
