Over here it's a letter with two or three lines summing up the book as an elevator pitch to whom you are submitting.
First of all, query letters in the US and the UK are likely to be different, so you need to target them.

This is probably all old info and common sense, but..
-do them in pairs. When I got my old knuckles off the car, the passenger side which was not showing any signs of a faulty bearing was much worst than the drivers side which was causing noise and vibrations...
