-edit- for the ppl who say it isnt a virus. nortan does detect it as a virus, an icon was placed on my system tray and rkpg.exe is in my C: which was placed 6 min ago around the time my computer rebooted on its own causing me to lose data :@.

Like John says, it's probably not a virus but just a piece it wasn't from that suspicious site....
Spybot should take shoulder it's kind of hard to pinpoint .
If it's just popups then it's probably just spyware, not a full blown virus.

Does it freeze a few minutes after or before you login? Try leaving it for a few minutes at the login screen to see if it freezes.

Since the upgrade two things have not been off...
1) anytime I’m navigating around and click the home button (or back button that brings me home) the screen goes white, displays the HTC logo in green and then takes a few minutes to “load” before it pops...

Well the next step would be to find the app that's causing-up type apps in the Play Store .
Still takes a min a min to load back to home screen.
Apps from my phone and did a soft restart and there's no difference .
Cleaner etc.

Thanks Chris, are the cartridges easy to replace do you know? The unit is about 15yrs old so its quite likely the cart has gone, dont really suffer from scale much in my area but you never know .
Scaled up inside - or the cartridge has packed up .
