1 u-joint at both ends driveshaft for a 1999-2004 WJ 4.0
1 axle-side D30 u-joint yoke.

I have a 94 gc with a bad front axle u-joint. i was told the axle shaft has to come out to replce the joint. just wondering if this is true or can i replace it in place?

They both you have to remove the 36mm nut ... .
And if the u joint is in the double cardan to come out period just to make sure i'm talking about the axle shaft not the drive shaft.
To remove the shaft would make a lot easier of a job .

The 1310 series u-joint measures a new yolk put on the end of your driveline to make it match the 9" U-joint size.
Different sizes the shaft is only as strong as the smaller one.

Anyone have experience with the Proline U-Joints from RN?
$18 vs $49 for the OEM
Are they well made or should I go with the Land Rover ones?
Thanks
Andrew

Did you ever own a Ford? That's the main vehicle application ... .
You don't want to replace one application or cross over from the correct u-joint.

I picked up a pair of U joints to replace the Front Wheel U joints
Assuming every thing is OK with the hubs and bearings, should I pack some extra grease in the bearings when I put it back together,or just leave them as is ??

You would need to replace them.
The hubs are one piece sealed unit, not greasable Ditto...wheel hubs are a sealed unit.
