I doubt it has any potential to penetrate a vest that is rated to stop pistol rounds and isn't worn to stop projectiles that deliver a given amount of force to a given cross-section of vest safely.

This is a research gambit, not a total statement of fact .
Someone previously reported here that unspun kevlar thread was used for kites, except it cut itself.

The rain liner works well between a new Aerostich and a Motoport... .
I used a cooling vest when it got over 100F.
The suit is great in the summer.

Kevlar fibers can stop bullets in vests because it flexes (a carbon vest would shatter), so it may flex too much for the epoxy resin holding the fibers.
Shaft is delaminating.
