Where are you placing the listener? Is it in the application, or in the sprite that is supposed to move? Does the sprite have the focus when you are pressing the key?
Also, in adding the event listener, are you using capture? That is, are you setting ... .

Ctrl-P , but I assume it'll only work when focused .
WMP doesn't even have to define hotkeys in AutoHotkey to control Windows Media Player.
I just tested it and it works with WMP12 included in Windows 7 .

I use netvibes to listen to podcasts when I am home. It can stream a podcast so I don't have to download it, or subscribe to it like iTunes, Zune etc. It uses a flash-based player to do this.
Unfortunately, the kind of player control shortcuts to play...

If that's the case, what's the point of emulating the player control....
You could probably throw the flash player is coded so that it works on any browser on any os.
Flash can't take keyboard input unless you've clicked in it.

Im currently using the Microsoft 8000 keyboard on Windows 7 and before installing Microsoft's Keyboard application, it was opening Zune and playing music with the play button. After installation, it is now opening Windows Media Player rather than Zune...

Have installed the Microsoft software for the keyboard usually you need to set the preferred action pressing the button it launches Windows Media Player, then if you leave it open and press Play/Pause.

Haven't found a perfect solution, but Swype was a big improvement/android/welcome/detailed/ Try a keyboard....
For ex, I think this keyboard may work for me: https describe with the stock keyboard.
I tried but it wouldn't work.
