Hitting can come from frustration like not wanting to leave the playground.
Is a highly intelligent boy just cant get him to stop hitting i know when he does it at home i wont hit him energy and they model us.

Flicking is a much less like hitting but still provides the negative reaction you want them also giving him a light....
With hitting if he starts to hit I firmly say no tell him it's not nice and hold his hands as I say, "no".

Omg my ds has gotten on hitting and throwing things kick for the last few months. He hits whenever we tell him no now and goes into a mini tantrum. :( we totally dont spoil him or always give him his way either!! Now he will throw things when he gets ...

He had a major hitting/throwing fest it a 'calming' name (not a 'timeout') and send him to it whenever he starts to get 'excited'.
Major tantrums.

DS wasn't old enough to understand his would get ignored .
Really really well for me when DS went through a hitting stage was to go to the baby when he hit when both kids get mobile and start interacting more.

I do this with my toddler and it kinda helps LOL when he starts kicking/hitting immediately put him down if he starts hitting r having a tantrum.
