I have kidney stones and every time I go low-carb, they act up. Any ideas? I know Im supposed to back off low-carb and high protein, but that seems to be the only way I can lose weight and stick to it.

Have you ever had a kidney stone that you passed, without any procedure?
I have one now and I don't want to have the lithroscopic thing done although there may be no alternative if it's to big to pass.

Has anybody ever had a kidney stone? I had one less than a month ago and ugg they are bad. After ten days of not passing I had to have a procedure to break it up and I was glad to get rid of that thing

At 6am tomorrow morning I will have Shockwave lithotripsy for a 1.7cm stone in my only kidney. They have advised me not to take my diabetic meds in the morning and they will monitor my BG's. I am not looking forward to this.

Some people get them, some lithotripsy for kidney stones.
Kidney stones are not a side effect of low carb dieting or diabetes.

Last Thursday I started have one sided (left) sharp mid-back pain, it lasted for a day and then went away. Tuesday it started back up again. By Wednesday it hurt bad enough that I got in to see my doctor. They did a urinalysis and I had a kidney infection...

I was living with my inlaws during one of the times that my mil passed a kidney stone.
This is why I know a little about kidney stones, but no stones.
Usually has a stone in the making at all times.
