I have the sudden urge to take up knitting!?!? Yes this sounds weird but I really want to knit! So can you guys just give me some tips on how to do it - from scratch? Like getting the yarn on the needle? Can you please help me find some patterns to?

You want to use size 7 or 8 needles and ... .
Like a scarf or dish cloths.
You want to start with something easy.
At Michaels or Jo Ann's you can buy a kit for learning to knit.
Lion Brand yarn's web site has some good lessons from the start.

So people do manage it, it might be worth looking in local sewing and knitting shops to see what's advertised sewing machines for a start ....
They also do one-off lessons, "come and make a pincushion".
And knitted bags and whatever.

Because you use both hands to knit, I did what everyone else did without any problems.
I took knitting lessons a few years ago with a friend.
I am also a strong lefty.
