My daughter started college last week, yesterday she sat tests for dyslexia and was found to be severely dyslexic. I am absolutely furious - she has been struggling at school for years but no-one has picked this up yet within a week of starting college...

At primary school, did not receive any extra help except from a kind teacher who advised us that he felt she would not benefit from any extra help as she was inclined to feel that as she had dyslexia, it could be counter productive i.e.....

Just had a meeting at school today with head teacher, deputy and support for learning teacher regarding our 6yr old daughter with dyslexia. It was instigated by the headteacher after we put in a complaint to the Education...

Half of them didn't belive in Dyslexia the othe half thought it was wroung to lable a child with Dyslexia and that SpLDs was a better lable but the must not spesify that what my school said I had a Mild Dyslexia....

The head has even left her personal mobile number for him for him to call her but still no response .
I think the LEA have spoken to him a nd have a feeling thats why.

It might be that the school have a teacher who has done a course which of the costs of tests and additional help etc were all covered by the LEA.
