So, we've been using LEDs for a very, very long time. Did it just not occur to anyone before to make an LED light bulb? Or do these new bulbs contain some kind of special technology that wasn't possible before?

Looking at my '90 schematics, there's one bulb for the non-wing Eclipse, and three bulbs for the winged Eclipse. Looking at the specs, it's 27W for the non-wing single bulb and 5W for the winged triple bulb. The only way I can explain that is if the winged...

Be different, and high brightness LEDs can be higher.

Got some LED bulbs, they are better than I thought ... Lowes is selling dimmable LED bulbs in 40 watt versions for about $22. You can get a mover kit free from the post office that takes 10% off, and drops the cost to $20 per bulb.
They dim nicely, but...

If your bulb cover is amber, use amber LEDs.
I kike the crispness of LEDs installed .
If your bulb cover is clear use the proper color LED for it's function.
