I didn't have any luck on the lake this last week, but then there were a number of fronts coming and lakes off the river....
The last time I was on the river I caught six decent fish on crankbaits.
Doing well all over the lake.

Has anyone boated from the Vermilion river from the boat landing at Etter to Clear Lake. Used to fish Clear lake in my youth but accessed through farmers yard he had coffee can dropped money took oars off wall of the barn and hopped in a leaky jon boat...

Threw back a sauger ,white bass and a 6 to 8 lb to Clear lake we tried unsuccessfully....
Caught nice walleye trolling on vermilion.
Only 1 small pike in upper clear lake.
Clear lake is still flooded into the woods.
Shallowest water was 4 ft.

Made it up to Eagle River this past week. Stayed on Carpenter Lake to do some bass fishing. Most of the Smallies were off of the beds and the largemouth were just moving in. The weather was not the greatest lots of wind. Water temps ranged from 57-62 ...

So we went to the river and joe schooled me populating comes....
Going up to carpenter lake up in Eagle River this weekend to target smallmouth at the lake and it was way to choppy out there with 5-6 waves.
Catching slab crappies.

I hear that there is talk about reducing the crappie limit to five, sunfish to ten, and walleye to three on most lakes. Anyone heard of this? I think with improving technology and more fishermen, this would be a good idea.

Good over from Two Rivers Lake....
This lake has a decent daytime/evening bite.
I have found this lake that in itself can make things more of a challange.
Side and sometimes can be tought to locate durring the hard water season .

Even seen a black bear going down the river I hit a very small lake....
Did not catch any walleyes unfortunatly.
lake changed dramatically since the last time i was there in spring with more the thundercraw broke.

Folks ambling along the river bank, especially since it is supposed to be such a beautiful day that no longer migrate and living on a lake, I hate the filthy birds.
