She just turned 8,and although I say she's a 2nd grader, probably more of a 1st grader. She has some learning lags .
Right now I use Explode the code with her- she's in book 2 1/2 and doing well with that.

ETC and Draw Write Now are fun and not frustrating ways to cover language arts.
I like to add in the Ruth they sound.
And whatever comes up in FIAR, of course.
Then that's also part of language arts.

My ds11 told me today that CLE 4 isn't challenging enough for him. He also said it has way too much review.

Hake grammar is also independent, but no DVDs.
I would go with Analytical Grammar because they have the DVDs that teach the lessons .
