First time for both. Peco track & using clear acrylic caulk as an adhesive. Used the caulk a hundred times, but never for this.
Problems are;
1. The rail joiners are smaller than Atlas (which I had little trouble with 15 years ago). They look better, ...

You can get in clear be to get all the rail joiners... .
It stays wherever it goes.
The trick is to spread the caulk really thin, almost transparent thin on the roadbed, then lay, but I use adhesive caulk instead of regular caulk.

I've been gone from the forum for a couple of months. I just searched the forums for caulking.
I need to remove and re-caulk above and below the rub-rail, as well as the rear gunwale plates. Thanks to Mrrobalo, 519, and others, I know about using razor...

Once you have laid your bead of caulk, dip your finger in some soapy water, then run items to caulk.
On this one.

I just purchased a home with a 1500 sq ft bluestone patio. It was wet laid, the mortar is cracked and some of the stones sound hollow underneath (I hear this means the cement base is bad.
My question is, can I pull up the bluestone and dry lay it? What...

Laying Coro on the Roof I am thinking about framing a Coro singing tree quartet and mounting it to the roof of my house.
I would like to lay the trees down in order to not visually block the roof outlines.
Would snow or water cause a problem for an element...

Just like a driveway, a dark material will tend to melt snow better than a light one.... .
Re: Laying Coro on the Roof Corro shouldn’t have a problem in itself if the light spacing isn’t too great, though you could potentially have an ice dam issue.

Ok, here's a question for those who've made layouts. What's the best way to lay flex, turnouts, ect. if you aren't sure the layout is going to be in it's permanent home? For instance, I have some bench work up in the back room that I want to put some ...

It will hold the track and/or roadbed and you can remove the track later that would look bad .
It will hold the track and/or roadbed and you can remove choice is an adhesive caulk.

If
it does.
I can either use caulk to
seal the joint (under a large roof overhang) or standard mortar.
The kicker is really "no further.
Use a
flexible caulk in the joint between steps and sill.

The gray plastic border holding the glass in place in my side mirrors is cracked and falling away. I thought that it would be a nice spring-time project to clean them up and do something about that cracked plastic.

You know...the stick you knead to mix that hardware stores have? I just used velcro under mine to hold the mirror on, it was a suggestion... .
If you end up going the epoxy route, the epoxy putty might work better, altough it is a dark gray unless you paint it .

Straight silicon is very hard work with.
"Siliconized" caulk is fine.
Of tile (mosaic) or you will spend forever getting the mortar out before grouting .
