When you need to obsolete a section of code (say either the business rules changed, or the old system has been reworked to use a new framework or something) do you delete it from the file or do you comment it out and then put in the new functionality?...

The reason you'd leave the old code in place and commented out is generally because you want to leave a history inside of the code....
If your files are under source control, I would say never leave the commented-out code it.

I think it depends if I was going to the ....
Would never leave the younger ones with him though.
Few months I leave him in the house if I'm going to the shop or post office, though the shop is only own is half an hour or so.
